USING POWERPOINT TO CREATE SOPHISTICATED IMAGES FOR USE IN TOOLBOOK

During the conversion into a ToolBook file any images within the PowerPoint file will be converted into PNG image files which are able to store these complex images, including the Alpha Channel transparency information.
PowerPoint includes a sophisticated image rendering ability which allows you to enhance images by adding features such as:

A Reflections
-
A Shadow
-
Rotating the image
-
Making the image semi-transparent
In PowerPoint you can also add various shapes to your slides using the Insert | Shapes option. These shapes can then be enhanced by modifying the shape's Style to give it effects such as:

Reshaping
-
Adding a bevel effect
-
Rotating the object
-
Adding a shadow
-
Adding a reflection
-
Making the image semi-transparent
-
Adjusting the fill and stroke color (including gradient and pattern fills)
The image below is a screen capture from PowerPoint showing a basic example of a photo and star shape, both of which are shown in plain form as well as with some special PowerPoint image effects applied to them.
These effects are maintained through the conversion process.
Knowing this, you can now use PowerPoint 2007 to create sophisticated looking images for use in your ToolBook files.
To demonstrate this potential, the following ToolBook 9.5 files were created from PowerPoint files using the PowerPoint SumTotal Publish to ToolBook add-in.
