PROBLEM
ToolBook seems to be really sluggish while Authoring, and at times seems to freeze up for no apparent reason.

DETAILS
The Book Explorer was introduced in ToolBook 9.0. It works by analyzing your ToolBook file, keeping track of which objects are on your pages, and showing a listing of these objects.

Normally this takes just a moment to update the Book Explorer and this update process occurs several times a second.

It was found that if many Universal Media Players were in your book, the amount of time it takes to analyze the book would increase from a mere moment to up to several seconds. This could cause ToolBook to become very sluggish, and even appear to be frozen at times.

Since the Book Explorer does not update itself when closed, the only solution at the moment is to close the Book Explorer.

This problem has been fixed in ToolBook 9.5 Service Pack 1.
