I cannot drag objects in DHTML using my mobile device

The information in this article applies to:

Product: ToolBook
Component: Mobile Device: DRAG support
Product version(s): ToolBook 9.5 and higher

PROBLEM
I'm using features in ToolBook which allow me to drag objects around on my page, but after Publishing to DHTML, I cannot drag them when viewed on a mobile touch screen device.

DETAILS
ToolBook has various question object types which permit you to drag objects on your page.

For example:

  1. Match Item
  2. Drag Object
  3. Drop Target
  4. Slider
  5. Definable Arrange

When viewed on a supported mobile device such as the iPhone, you'll notice that you cannot drag these objects. This is because the browser can't tell the difference between you trying to drag an object or trying to scroll the web page, and as a result will scroll the web page.

Because of this, ToolBook currently does not support these Drag type events when used on a mobile device. We are looking into ways of getting around this for future versions of ToolBook.

UPDATE
ToolBook 10.5 implemented drag support for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Support for other mobile devices will be added in future versions of ToolBook.
